FEBRUARY: PRONTO AT IT-TRANS 2012
PRONTO at IT-TRANS 2012 "IT-Solutions for Public Transport" in Karlsruhe (Germany) on February 15-17, 2012. Read more in good time before in the Meet PRONTO category.

The proposed approach is applicable to a wide range of domains, where resource management is needed. During the project, the PRONTO technology will be tested in two such domains:
- emergency rescue operations (ERO)
- city transport management (CTM)
For both domains representative requirements and multi-perspective validation phases will be set.
The two case studies of PRONTO have several common aspects as well as differences. The latter include the aggregation and analysis of different types of sensor data modalities, the different types of events that need to be recognised in each case as well as the availability of the recognised events. Concerning the last issue, in the first case study the recognised events are available on-site to the operation manager. This is in contrast to the second case study in which the decision-making takes place at the control centre and, therefore, the knowledge extracted by PRONTO is offered to the control centre operators. Thus, the two case studies will serve to prove the demand for PRONTO technologies and in particular the need for automated event recognition support in making resource management decisions.
